Restart grants for Plymouth businesses

Restart Grants are designed to help businesses reopen safely. Eligible businesses receive a one-off grant to help their business as Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

Applications for Restart Grants will close on 30 June 2021, with final payments being made by 31 July 2021.

The grant is available to businesses if they are:

  • rate-paying

  • trading on 1 April 2021

  • in the non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care or gym sectors.

Businesses will not be eligible for the grant if they:

  • are not within the ratings system

  • have already received grant payments that equal the maximum permitted subsidy allowances

  • are in administration, insolvent or where a striking-off notice has been made.

Businesses must complete an application form in order to claim their Restart Grant.

Plymouth City Council is aiming to make grant payments to eligible businesses within two weeks of receiving their application.

As part of the application process, all businesses will be required to self-certify that they meet the eligibility criteria.
